The DC52 Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman #4: cover art by Cliff Chiang
This comic has been utterly amazing.  I think it's one of the best comics to come out of the DC reboot.  Actually, after this last issue, I'd rate it tops of the 52.  What's amazing is that the first arc (which ended with No. 4) has been mostly set-up.  You're introduced to the new version of the gods, you meet some of the more important players and you learn about Diana and where she comes from.  You also get the beginning premise which will drive the main story from here on out.  Plus, they do it in a way that delivers powerful emotions.  Brian Azzarello (writer), Cliff Chiang (artist), and Matthew Wilson (colorist) are doing incrdible things with this comic and the way they work as a team is really unparalleled.

I think I'll end up doing a few more posts on this one.  It's just so intelligent and elegant.  Not a word is wasted and the information that it presents, with no exposition, is at times staggering.

Moebius (Jean Giraud)

Moebius

Moebius, or Jean Giraud, is one of my favorite comic artists.  His work is extremely original and very detailed.  I got these images from the great Moebius site Quenched Consciousness (a few of the images on the site are NSFW).  Click on the pics for larger size.

Scene from 'Blueberry' by Moebius
The scene above from the comic Blueberry shows the amount of detail he adds to his drawings.  Amazing!

Spider-Man by Moebius
He also does more famous superheroes as well.  He's drawn, not only Spider-Man above, but a small Silver Surfer arc for Marvel.  He's also drawn some DC Comics characters that are fantastic.
